Franklin Templeton Bolsters EMEA Alternatives Sales Team With Three New Hires

London, 6 April 2022 – Franklin Templeton is pleased to announce the appointment of James Peoples, Tatiana Lazareva and Laura Hadrill as Senior Alternatives Sales Specialists, EMEA. Reporting to George Szemere, Head of Business Development, Alternatives, EMEA, Peoples and Hadrill are based in London and Lazareva is based in Amsterdam.

In these newly created positions, Peoples, Lazareva and Hadrill will work in close coordination with regional distribution teams to engage wealth management, family office and institutional clients on Franklin Templeton’s private markets and liquid alternatives strategies, with specific focus on those from its specialist investment managers, Benefit Street Partners and K2 Advisors.

Before joining Franklin Templeton, Peoples was a principal at CQS where he sold alternative credit solutions to the UK, Swiss and Nordics clients. He also worked at Muzinich and BlueBay Asset Management as Sales Director with a global remit. Peoples started his career by spending seven years at Goldman Sachs on the credit trading desk and as an institutional portfolio manager on its Fixed Income team. He holds a BSC in Economics from Westminster business school and a post graduate business degree in International Banking and Finance from Columbia Business School in New York.

Lazareva has over 15 years of experience in the industry and joins the firm from Schroders Capital, where she was Director, Private Asset Sales with a primary focus on UK wealth managers, family offices and global financial institutions. Prior to this, she was Head of Investor Relations at EG Capital Advisors. Lazareva started her career in financial services at Citigroup in the Global Markets team, where she was responsible for asset and liability product solutions. She holds a BSC in Computer Science from City University, London.

Hadrill joins Franklin Templeton from BlueBay Asset Management, where she spent 14 years, most recently as Sales Director. She worked closely with family offices and fund of hedge fund strategies in the UK and previously covered prospects and clients in countries including Switzerland, France and the U.S. across single and multi-family offices, endowments, funds of hedge funds, financial institutions and wealth managers. She holds a MA from Christ’s College, University of Cambridge in the UK.

Benefit Street Partners

BSP was founded in 2008 and is a fully owned subsidiary of Franklin Templeton. As of January 31, 2022, it managed approximately $39 billion in assets and invests across the global credit spectrum, from senior secured debt to subordinated debt, as well as both liquid and illiquid credit – and has extensive experience deploying capital through multiple business cycles. The BSP platform manages funds for institutions, high-net-worth and retail investors across private/opportunistic debt, liquid loans, high yield, special situations, long-short liquid credit and real estate debt and equity. These complementary strategies leverage the proprietary sourcing, analytical, operational and compliance capabilities that encompass BSP’s robust institutional platform. BSP’s headquarters are in New York, with additional offices in Atlanta, Boston, and Rochester.

K2 Advisors

K2 Advisors provides integrated hedge fund and alternative product solutions covering multiple strategies to institutional and high-net-worth investors as well as liquid alternative fund offerings for retail investors worldwide, with over $12 billion in assets under management as of March 1, 2022. Products and services offered include single investor custom-tailored investment programs, commingled funds of hedge funds, strategic advisory relationships, and multi- and single-strategy retail mutual funds. Based in Stamford, Connecticut, K2 Advisors has a global presence with offices in New York, London, and Sydney.
